Kareem Bandealy
Kareem Bandealy has been an Associate Artist and company member of Silk Road Theatre Project since January 2007. His previous work with SRTP includes productions of Resident Playwright Yussef El-Guindi's 10 Acrobats in an Amazing Leap of Faith and Back of the Throat. In 2008, he will appear in SRTP’s world premiere of Yussef El Guindi’s Our Enemies: Lively Scenes of Love and Combat. He has also appeared as part of the Al Kasida Staged Reading Series in 10 Acrobats, Celestial Motions, and Balacarita.
Kareem's other Chicago credits include appearances at Goodman (King Lear), Remy Bumppo (The Real Thing), About Face (Wedding Play), American Theater Company (Oklahoma!), and several others. Regional credits include Notre Dame Summer Shakespeare, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre, and four seasons at Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Film: In Plain Sight, Counting Backwards, Bodega, and Michael Keaton's The Merry Gentleman.
He holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from University of Central Florida. In April 2007, he was profiled in Time Out Chicago as one of ten actors considered to be "ubiquitous on Chicago's stages." Kareem is a member of SAG, AFTRA, and AEA.
